Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper discusses high-speed packet transfer control to fast terminals in a IP-based micro-cellular network. Fast terminals change access point more frequently so packet transfer to them should be controlled quick enough to reduce delay. We recognize that even WLAN can meet high data bit rate transfer but it is less support for high-speed mobility. Thus we introduce a new microcellular network architecture called MM-MAN as a component of 4G deployed in metropolitan area to support high bit rate .packet transfer to fast-moving terminals. Analysis of contention to improve that it can not be suitable for fast mover. Thus parallel polling in LMC supported by PON is designed to satisfy a smooth handover of fast-moving terminals. Packet transfer in parallel polling is introduced. When mobile terminals move from one micro-cell to another, LMC is switched over. This process is also presented to avoid the staggered LMC.
