Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new QoS control method for DCF mode of wireless LANs. The proposed method employs the parameter-adaptation DCF for the MAC layer. In this method, the bandwidths are assigned as matching bit rates required by stations. That is, the higher required bit rate, the smaller the back-off time of CSMA/CA. The proposed method is capable of improving the quality of service by assigning much bandwidth to the data requiring high bit rate. Furthermore, the access point chooses the wireless transmission format for each station according to their required bit error rate, which increases available bandwidth of wireless link. We evaluate the bit rate performance of the proposed method by computer simulations. In these simulations, we assume that many users upload voice, video, file, and mail data respectively. The results of the simulations verify the availability of our proposal.
