High-speed Calculation of Worst-case Link Delays in EDD Connection Admission Control Scheme

Abstract(in English) In the EDD connection admission control scheme, when a connection establishment request occurs, the worst-case link delay in each link along the connection is calculated to determine whether the request can be accepted or not. In conventional methods for calculating the delays, the amount of time required for the calculation becomes large when the value of the maximum packet length is large. In this paper, we propose a high-speed calculation method in which the value does not have influence on the calculation time. Numerical examples show that the amount of time required for the calculation can be decreased up to about 80 %.
