Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A multi bit-serial transmission provides high-throughput synchronized data transmission with high-speed serial data lanes. The multi bit-serial transmission requires skew compensation between the serial lanes caused by the difference of the propagation delay. In this skew compensation method, the transmitter side generates the pattern structured from idle characters for skew detection, and the receiver side detects skew in the received data pattern and compensates. This method realizes highly efficient data transmission and automatic detection of skew hi any transmission distance with high-speed. Also, it uses 64B/66B transmission code, which achieves the good compatibility with other Ethernet standards. This skew compensation method is applicable to the next-generation of lOOGbit/s Ethernet (lOGbit/s by 10 channels), which requires to compensate skew of 50ns.
