Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) TSOBS (Time Sliced Optical Burst Switching) is proposed as an OBS system which can reduce the buffer size of FDLs (Fiber Delay Lines) needed by the core router. However, in TSOBS, since the number of gaps where only a short burst can be assigned increases, the possibility that a long burst will be discarded increases. In this paper, we propose a scheduling algorithm to reduce unused timeslots by selecting the timeslot at which one of head gap and tail gap is the smallest. As a result, we show that our proposed scheme can improve the packet loss probability and throughput performance as compared with a conventional one by computer simulations.
