Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the event-driven sensor networks, a large-size data such as image is fragmented to a lot of packets and transmitted to the sink. In order for the sink to notify such as re-transmission request of packets to a source sensor node using unicast, addresses of sensor nodes are necessary to distinguish the sensor node from other nodes. One of the existing address allocation methods is to allow a node to pick an address randomly, and then use duplicate address detection (DAD) to detect duplicate addresses. The node can use the allocated address permanently. However, with the increase in the number of nodes allocated address, the method increases the number of cases that a node picks up a duplicate address. As a result, it consumes power of sensor nodes due to using a lot of control messages for the DAD. In this paper, we propose an energy-aware address allocation method. The proposed method allocates, on an on-demand basis, a temporary address to a node which detects a phenomenon. With the decrease in the number ofcases that a node picks up a duplicate address, it can conserve the power due to decreasing the number of the control messages.
