Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the sensor network considered as one form of ubiquitous service, authors proposed the sensor network architecture which is placed on streetlight and telegraph pole, forming a distributed autonomous network. In research of the conventional sensor network, there were many arguments on condition of resource restrictions of battery capacity, communication bandwidth and so on. In this paper, however, the sensor node using optical wireless communications such as FSO(Free Space Optics) was proposed, by placing the sensor node on the existing streetlight, telegraph pole without considering the conventional restrictions. This proposal can realize the broadband sensor network with sensors, e.g. camera. The proposed sensor network architecture and hardware composition were explained, and sensor network system reliability and cost were evaluated.
