Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless sensor networks have emerged recently as effective ways of monitoring environments over wide areas. Power saving is one of the most important factors in realizing a cost effective sensor network because the longer the battery life is, the operation and maintenance cost become the lower. This paper, focusing on power saving of multi-hop routing function of a wide area sensor network, proposes a new sensor network node which is waken up from its stand-by mode when a radio message destined to the node is detected. This paper also discusses effective ways of collecting sensor data.
