Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In EMBAC (End-to-End Measurement Based Admission Control) , end-to-end probe packet loss rate is compared with Admission Threshold (AT) to control the number of admitted calls. When there is only one link end-to-end, an optimum AT can be obtained and it is possible to control the target communication quality (average packet loss rate, blocking probability). But it is difficult to decide an optimum AT for a network, where multiple links exist end-to-end and each link is differently loaded. We offer a solution of this problem considering link dimensioning. In our method, end-to-end QoS targets are allocated to each link and each link is dimensioned with the optimum AT. Specifically, most highly loaded link is designed first and the obtained AT is used to dimension the rest of the links. We show the proposed method is efficient in terms of the required bandwidth.
