Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a QoS-based optical burst transmission to provide QoS guarantee in terms of burst loss for JIT protocol. The proposed method consists of burst assembly algorithm and burst transmission scheduling, and it works only at ingress edge node. The burst assembly algorithm is timer-based and bursts with different QoS classes are assembled simultaneously. Then, according to the burst transmission scheduling, the assembled bursts are transmitted as a burst-cluster in order from the lowest priority to the highest one. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method for a mesh-torus network with simulation. Numerical examples show that the proposed method succeeds in providing different QoS grades regardless of traffic load for each class.
