Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the video distribution on the Internet, it is important to suppress the degradations of communication quality caused by burst packet dropping when the Internet traffic is congested. As the way of recovering dropped packets, ARQ(Automatic Repeat reQuest) or FEC(Forward Error Correction) has been used. However, more efficient method is necessary from the viewpoint of delay time and bandwidth availability. In this paper, we focus on contents delivery services using Meta-Content Technology which is new technology based on FEC. Then, we propose the efficient multicast distribution method using this Meta-Content Technology. We newly introduce the support server which retransmits lost packets based on multicast clients' reports. We evaluate the performance of proposal method compared to the conventional method and confirm the efficiency.
