Abstract(in English) | For the video distribution services on the Internet, to suppress the effect of packet loss is one of important issues. Usually, Forward Error Correction (FEC) based on Reed-Solomon codes is used as a solution. However, this causes the increase of network traffic, the weakness of burst packet losses and the increase of processing time at the codec. In this paper, we focus on the XOR-based coding. we propose the efficient multicast video distribution method with FEC, which is combination of multicast distribution using XOR-based crasure coding and direct request to the server. We evaluate the performance of proposed transmission method and confirm it's the efficiency. |
