Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The establishment of switching architecture of all optical WDM network suitable for large capacity, long holding time and real time application like video transmission has been one of important technical issues. However, the conventional system was premised on static traffic, and improvement for corresponding to dynamic traffic is required. Therefore, in this paper, we propose 2-layer wave-band switching architecture as an all optical switching scheme in consideration of dynamic traffic changes. Assuming the environment without wavelengh convertor, our 2-layer wave-band switching scheme is applied to several network topologies for performance evaluation. Then effectiveness and feasibility of this scheme are confirmed from a view of the number of required wavelengths and the blocking probability.
