Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We address the issue of structure and operation for FDL in WDM optical burst switching networks. The novel operation scheme in this paper is a multiple delay type FDL that allows bursts with different required delay are accommodated in the same variable length FDL. The authors also propose a shared buffer type switch architecture using variable length FDL. This enables to adopt nearly equivalent functions as used in electronic routers. We show that optical router functions are efficiently enhanced due to the proposed schemes.
