Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Since the Internet is characterized by its huge scale, huge diversity, huge volume of traffic, and distributed administration, the methodologies and systems for Interet measurement have not been well established so far, and a variety of research and developments in this area are being carried out. Especially in the recent years, notable evolution such as new types of inference methods based on statistical or information-theoretic approaches, and several large-scale measurement experiment infrastructures can be seen. On the other hand, since the Internet itself also evolves rapidly, research on network measurement should be much more emphasized. In this paper, a glance over such new topics or state-of-the-art techniques is given with some discussion on the future direction.
