Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Multiple star coupler network (MSCN), connecting multiple star couplers with arbitrary topology, has a number of superior features, such as optical transparency, high scalability, simple node structure, minimized operational cost, and removal of network planning. MSCN can achieve the throughput slightly higher than CSMA/CD. We can expect further improvement of throughput by dividing the network into some segments and limiting the frame broadcasting area to each segment. In this paper, techniques and examples of segmentation are described, and the effect is numerically evaluated. |
