Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Next-generation Service Provider Network architecture should be designed to provide high performance of end-to-end throughput and huge capacity of accommodating customer networks. To satisfy these requirements, we have proposed Tera-bit Super Network (TSN) architecture, which deploys the integration of optical path connection technology and IPv6 connectionless technology. To prevent degrading quality of packet forwarding and achieves an effective usage of resources of TSN, we have studied a cut-through optical path mechanism, which dynamically assigns optical paths according to traffic demands. In our previous studies, a cut-through optical path directly connects a pair of PE-Rs (Provider Edge Router). However, if many cut-through optical paths are required to assign a PE-R, all required cut-through optical path cannot be assigned because a shortage of optical path interfaces of a PE-R. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new path assignment method, which assigns cut-through optical paths between PE-R and E-PC-R (Electronic Provider Core Router). Our evaluation shows that the proposed method increases the efficiency of accommodating IP6 traffic to cut-through optical paths. |
