Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Besides the popular centralized architecture for network QoS control such as DiffServ networks with QoS servers so called Bandwidth Brokers, authors are currently researching distributed architectures for multi-class QoS control where edge routers control traffic flows in an autonomous and distributed manner. For those distributed architectures, efficient mechanisms are inevitable that can maintain and deliver the status information within the network. In this report, the requirements for the distributed status management are studied, and a solution for status management and delivering mechanism is presented. The proposed status management scheme is based on the active networking paradigm; each core router maintains minimal set of local status and it reacts to the control packets from edge routers that trigger status management and delivery actions.
