Rescue System Based on Location Aware Information Exchange in Mobile AdHoc Network

Abstract(in English) Information about the extent of disaster related with precise location is useful for rescue operation. Based on Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET), Peer-to-Peer (P2P), Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies, we develop a system for team communication to share location aware information during disaster rescue operations. In our system, rescue workers efficiently share various types of data such as text, voice, and image, which are related with location obtained from GPS, using P2P resource sharing technology. MANET enhances mobility of rescue workers and quick deployment of rescue activity. Our system enables rescue works to estimate the location of a rescuee by sharing reference information which is obtained from his or h er beacon. In t his paper, we define t he r equirements a r escue system h as to fulfill, r eview the a chievements i n t he respective technology fields, outline the design concepts for the systems implementation, and discuss proposals for further improvement.
