Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The number of users and services in mobile communications is increasing rapidly, and that requires efficient use of the available frequency band. MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) systems are one possible candidate to meet these demand. We have shown that the minimum eigenvalue power of the channel matrix indicates the effective carrier power in MIMO systems. This paper proposes a new soft-decision decoder employing eigenvalue of channel matrix as a weighting factor in MIMO systems. BER performance is calculated under Rayleigh fading channels. The results show that the proposed decoder gives a margin of about 5 dB at BER=10^<-4> compared to the conventional decoder employing received power as a weighting factor.
