Abstract(in English) | IGAP (Internet Group membership Authentication Protocol) is proposed at IETF now. It is an IP multicast management protocol cooperating with user authentication and accounting mechanism, and effective for the broadband content delivery service like video distribution. But when IGAP is used in a wide area network, we need many layer-3 IGAP routers to construct the multicast CDN. Those routers are expensive, so we considered decreasing the cost by using layer-2 switches substitute for layer-3 switches. Then we developed an IGAP snooping switch based on layer-2 switch. We proposed an architecture of IGAP snooping, and evaluated the functionality. We confirmed that the IGAP snooping is available for constructing cost-effective multicast CDN. |
