Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the future mobile network, IP-based high-speed packet communication to fast terminals is one of the essential objectives. Especially, it is problematic to excute quick handovers; there are delays due to the packet transfer from the old radio base-station to the new station, and due to the contention to notify the moving to the new station. We propose a logical macro-cell which consists of several adjacent micro-cells. In the logical macro-cell, packets are distributed in advance of the handovers, and polling ot detect mobility to the new cell is executed before each handover. The proposed method consumes more radio resources than conventional systems, however it demonstrates that high speed packet transfer can be achieved for fast terminals.
