Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we focus on Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) that supports a multihoming function. SCTP has two kinds of routes: Primary path that is used for actual data transmission, and alternative path that is reserved for backups. However, in the current, SCTP, a sender host cannot explicitly change the primary path and the path selection docs not depend on the network conditions including bandwidth, delay and packet loss. Therefore, we propose SCTP's primary path selection with the active measurements by extend HEARTBEAT mechanism to provide good QoS for real-time communications. Through performance evaluation, we show its effectiveness.
