VoIP Packet Assurance with Echo Monitoring/Redundant Routing On Wireless Ad-hoc Networks

Abstract(in English) This paper is to present our approach to assure VoIP packets on wireless ad-hoc networks. While VoIP requires real time response at the end to end, wireless ad-hoc network is still far from stable link due to dynamic routing and air slot latency. For minimal duration of route shifting and for minimal packet loss, we implemented 2 methods; a link down detection by neighbor echo watching and a temporal linkage by broadcasting. We report, in this paper, result of simulations and that of experiments with the implementations on PC-UNIX system.
