Abstract(in English)	The Photonic Internet Forum (PIF)," established in 2001 (http://www.scat.or.jp/photonic/), is a non-profit consortium with members drawn from industry and academia and with the raison d'etre of contributing to the progress of info-communications technology both domestically and internationally. In this talk, the report of the Research Delegate to China in Jan. 2003 will be presented. The R&D initiatives between private sectors, universities, and independent research institutes in CRL Keihanna Open Laboratory, under preperation by the Communication Research Laboratory, will be also introduced.
