Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to support micro mobility for Mobile IP, Cellular IP is proposed. In this method, a state of each mobile host is categorized to active or idle. For managing idle mobile hosts, a paging cache is introduced. It is very important to configure the proper paging cache timeout time to realize effective communications in Cellular IP. This paper discusses the simulation experiments to obtain the proper value. We also define the management cost Ci for the criteria of the experiments. The relation among Ci, the average rate λ p of TCP connection requirements and paging update time Tpu is shown and the optimum Tpu which minimizes Ci is also derived.
