Abstract(in English) | Since optical processing systems such as optical cross-connects and optical add-drop multiplexers are indispensable for the photonic networks, optical switching devices are strongly required as the key components for fabrication of the systems. This paper reports the recent progress on low-loss and highly reliable optical switches, which are fabricated by the technologies based on the planar-lightwave circuit, and others such as MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) mirrors. |
