Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The authors have proposed optical waveband switching scheme, which realizes all-optical WDM network suitable for applications of video transmission. In this network, switching bundled wavelength channels in optical switches can reduce the complexity of optical crossconnects. The existing RWA (routing and wavelength assignment) algorithms, which consider each wavelength as independent channel resource, do not aim at aggregation and processing of bundled paths sharing same links. This paper proposes a new WBRA (waveband routing and assignment) algorithm reducing network cost in waveband-routed networks, and examines their feasibility from a viewpoint of the number of required wavelengths and shows cost effectiveness of waveband-routed networks.
