Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) IP multicast is indispensable to provide video distribution services efficiently on the Internet. However, because of the charasteristics of the present Internet; best-effort and heterogeneous network, video quality is degraded by packet dropping when Internet traffic is congested and the bandwidth of each multicast node becomes disproportional. In this paper, we focus on the Forwaed Error Correction(FEC) as an error recovery method and receiver-driven adaptation multicast called Layered Multicast. And we propose the multicast distribution method that the FEC redundancy is adaptively added to each transmission data of Layered Multicast in response to network condition. We evaluate the proposed performance of transmission method and confirm the efficiency.
