Abstract(in English) | This paper proposes a spreading factor control scheme that employs a larger spreading factor in the frequency domain associated with a greater frequency diversity effect to suppress other-cell interference for VSF-OFCDM (Variable Spreading Factor- Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing) using two-dimensional spreading prioritizing time domain spreading. Simulation results show that, compared with only time-domain spreading (spreading factors in the time and frequency domains are SF_Time = 16 and SF_Freq = 1, respectively), two-dimensional spreading (SF_Time = 16, SF_Freq = 8) decreases the required I_or/I_oc (I_or and I_oc represent the total received signal power transmitted from the desired base station and the total received interference power from other cells plus background noise, respectively). Concretely, when the spreading factor control is performed maintaining a constant throughput, the required I_or/I_oc to achieve the average PER (Packet Error Rate) = 10^-2 is reduced by approximately 1.2 - 1.9 dB. Furthermore, when the throughput is reduced by 1/8 from the case of SF_Time = 16, SF_Freq = 1,and C_mux = 8 code-multiplexing, the combination of SF_Time = 16, SF_Freq 8, and C_mux = 8 using two-dimensional spreading decreases the required I_or/I_oc by approximately 2.0 dB compared with that of SF_Time = 16, SF_Freq = 1, and C_mux = 1 using only time-domain spreading (12-path exponential decayed Rayleigh fading, r.m.s. delay spread = 0.34 μsec, and maximum Doppler frequency = 20 Hz). |
