Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It has been reported that the performance of TCP is severely degraded over wireless networks because TCP is tuned to perform well in wired networks where channel error rates are very low and packet losses occur mostly because of congestion. In this paper, we discuss a data-link error control to improve the performance of TCP over wireless networks. We analyze the effect of SR-ARQ as an error control scheme over CDMA system in multicell environments by means of computer simulation. Our simulation results show that, in multicell environments, the effect of SR-ARQ is small because of the burst frame error which is caused by intercell interference. Futhermore, we propose the use of a back-off algorithm in order to overcome the burst frame error, and show that the back-off algorithm can improve the performance of SR-ARQ.
