Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Only static images are usually used for diagnosis of the wrist. The kinetics of the joint is diagnosed based on an orthopaedist's subjective observation and clinical findings. However, it's possible that if one can obtain dynamic X-ray images and analyze them quantitatively, the diagnosis will be more precise. Flexion and extension movements are especially important for diagnosing joints in various motions. We developed a kinetic analysis of the carpal bones in flexion and extension movements using X-ray lateral images of the wrist. The radiocarpal joint and the midcarpal joint are4mportant for movement because these joint produces flexion and extension. The results for 13 normal cases and 1 abnormal case indicated that our kinetic analysis method is promising to aid for diagnosis of the wrist kinetics.
