Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose new features based on bilateral comparison of breasts and introduce them to the previously developed tumor detection system for mammograms. The features are defined as bilateral subtraction of features measured in the corresponding regions of left and right breasts. We applied the new system to 1,008 mammograms and found that number of false positives per image was decreased from 1.32 to 0.97 at 90% of sensitivity.
