Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we propose chirp signal to be applied to UWB radar system instead of the usual monocycle. In the proposed scheme, the transmit signal consists of a combination of chirp signals with different frequency bands but the same time duration. Using the proposed technique we can suppress the need for increasing peak power and accomplish same range resolution as conventional UWB radars. We establish that the proposed system has the same rate of ranging errors as a UWB radar in a single user environment, while yielding improved performance in a multi user environment.
