Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a driving assistance system using communication based on collision prediction. In this system, the probability of collision is estimated by predicting the location of vehicles using their information given by communication. The system's performance is evaluated by using a microscopic traffic flow simulator, in the consequent it shows that though the average accident interval increases monotonously with increasing of prediction time, if the prediction time is more than 2 seconds the effectiveness of the system is saturated. Furthermore this system improves the average accident interval from 5 times to 12 times regardless of the vehicle density and when the equipped ratio of the system diffusion is over 70%, the average accident interval rises drastically.
