Segmentation of Color Images Using Texture Features and Fuzzy Region Growing Algorithm

Abstract(in English) We present the segmentation of naturel color images which controls an excessive patition. It is required for an image segmentation technique to reduce unnecessary regions while maintaining accurate segmentation of important regions. Segmentation of natural images containing both man-made objects and natural objects sometimes produces the excessive partition due to the texture regions. The purpose of the proposed method is to provide rough segmentation of texture regions in natural objects while keeping important edges in man-made objects by using fuzzy inference to integrate various features. Our method try to calculate the unified feature from the local fractal dimension and the statistical geometric features and propose to segment images by the fuzzy region growing algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with the conventional method is confirmed through experiments.
