Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have been studying on a method of capturing a high quality texture of 3-D background for Image-based Virtual Studio. We have developed an experimental Robot-Arm Camera system for capturing texture images in a real studio set. The system controls the position and the direction of the camera in accordance with the CAD data of the studio set. In our experiments, the camera images are captured in several camera position and direction in the studio set. Camera images close to the normal vector of the polygon of each surface are selected, and the textures are produced for each polygon. The result of the experiment shows that the system is able to create the high-resolution texture for each polygon. However the geometric error of the CAD data and the camera position data affects to the texture accuracy.
