Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have studied a novel cooperative modeling system that integrates 2D and 3D environments. The system is composed of a 3D environment by employing an IllusionHole and a 2D environment by using an IllusionHole mask which an image are projected onto. 6DOF tracked mice allow users to input seamlessly between in 2D and 3D. The prototype modeler is mainly characterized by an adaptive 2D GUI based on user position and interoperability between 2D and 3D environments. In this research, a palette-like operation plate which is used for both output and input is newly introduced to the system to further integrate 2D and 3D environments. Subjective evaluation supports the effectiveness of the system.
