Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Manipulation of remote virtual objects is useful and often necessary operation for users in a virtual space. Navigation techniques, such as walk-through and fly-through, are necessary to support in a large-scale virtual enviroment to move around the scene. Although many interaction techniques have been proposed for these two types of operations, few of them support both of them, and none provides the same interaction methodology for the two types of operations. So, in this paper, we propose a set of intuitive gesture commands that provide users an identical methodology for both navigation and remote-object manipulation, such as beckoning and waving.
