Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, many studies have been carried out on spread spectrum technology- based radar and communication systems in public areas, such as ITS. In this paper, an application of these systems to ATC (Automatic Train Control) is reported. Conventionally, the ATC signal has been transmitted by an analog signal passed along a rail. However, in order to shorten train operation intervals in the future, the analog system is gradually being shifted to digital systems which are able to control train speed by transmitting information on the gaps between trains. In this paper, information transmission based on digitization of ATC using spread spectrum technology is considered, and the validity of spread spectrum communication is shown through experiments with current model trains.
