Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ITS inter-vehicle communication and ranging, it examines applying the Ultra-Wide Bandwidth(UWB) wireless communications system which attracts attention in recent years. Since UWB uses the pulse with minute time width, it has high resolution of distance and a transmission rate that is difficulk to attain by Spread Spectrum(SS) system. This paper confirms the validity of a UWB system by comparing the performance of the UWB system with DS/SS system. Furthermore, we propse the method of improving ranging capability by using the feature of a UWB communication system, and we evaluate a validity for the performance as compared with the conventional system by computer simulation.
