Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Various efforts have been exerted to improve safety of transportation systems, such as aircraft, automobile, railroad, and marine vessels. Accidents rates, however, are not low enough. One of the reasons may be that advanced functionalities and speeding up of those transportation systems impose the operators excessive claims on their abilities for situational recognition, decision-making, and action implementation. This paper discusses what are needed for fundamental and drastic improvement of transportation systems safety. |
