Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The conventional watt-hour meter utilizes the electromagnetic induction. This is simple and reliable but it has some problems in accuracy, mechanical fatigue, life time and size. Here, a new watt-hour meter by using optical sensor has small size and is capable of working for a long time is proposed. They have no mechanical action part in system. The watt-hour meter consists of two parts. One is the sensor part which measures electric power utilized Pockels and Faraday effects. The other is electric circuit part which converts to digital signals and add them. In this report, its principle and the experiment are described.
