Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Tapered-shape Bragg fiber is proposed to achieve single-mode transmission. The Bragg fiber having a uniform taper waist with 11 μm core was fabricated by forming a Si/SiO_2 multilayer-film on the single-mode fiber elongated in the shape of a biconical taper. We found that this fiber has the loss less than 2 dB in wavelength ranging from 1150 nm to 1590 nm and is supporting Gaussian-like mode in the taper waist.
