Abstract(in English) This report describes about development of index-profiling technique for optical fiber preforms, particularly on the noise enhancement effect often appears near core center. The optical fiber manufacturing process usually takes two steps 1)preform fabrication and 2) drawing to fibers. As the index profile required for optical fiber is produced on preform stage and therefore the preform-index-profile measurement is commonly done to evaluate fiber quality in fiber fabrication process. The index profiling process includes both measurement of deflection function and numerical transform of the deflection function to index profile. In order to improve accuracy of the measurement, software algorithms must be developed as well as hardware. The noise enhancement effect near core center is analyzed and a new technique for reducing the noise effect is considered. We have good result obtained by using a test system.
