Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We propose a newly designed none-zero dispersion shifted fiber (NZ-DSF) that provides the solution of the reduction of CAPEX and OPEX in metro and access networks. The values of dispersion and dispersion slope of this fiber have been determined by optimization for any kind of transmission systems in these area, especially for 10Gb/s full-spectrum CWDM transmission systems and 10Gb/s DWDM transmission systems. By results of numerical simulations and experimental verifications, 32×10Gb/s DWDM transmission with 100GHz channel spacing has been successfully demonstrated over 240km without dispersion compensation. In addition, a specially designed dispersion compensating fiber can offer almost perfectly dispersion compensation to our proposed NZ-DSF with the residual dispersion of ±0.08ps/nm/km in C-band and the estimated module insertion loss of less than 2dB, which shows the upgradeability to 40Gb/s transmission systems with this NZ-DSF. |
