Abstract(in English) | Recently, the research on all-optical analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) has been extensively attempted to break through inherently limited operating speed of electronic devices. In this paper, we describe a novel all-optical ADC scheme which consists of the quantization based on slicing supercontinuum (SC) spectrum and the coding with using nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM). We conducted proof-of-principle experiments of optical quantization by slicing SC spectrum with use of arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG) and optical coding using NOLM. We successfully demonstrated all-optical 2-bit ADC. |
