Abstract(in English) | Optical fibers are usually produced by drawing from cylindrical glass rods, called optical fiber performs in which the physical structures are constructed required as wave guides. It is important, therefore, to exam the structure in the preforms for quality control and fiber development. The authors have previously proposed a various types of measurement technique for various types of performs depending upon fabrication technique. However, preforms under currnet development have more complicated structure in it than conventional ones. This requires more accuracy and higher resolution. We have improved the perform analyzer system previously reported as to be with higher resolution. Principles and some experimental results are presented. |
