Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A bending loss insensitive fiber is being launched into indoor wiring area with the spread of Fiber to the Home (FTTH). We have measured the macro bending loss at 1650nm of the fiber, and then evaluated the performance of indoor cable at severe conditions that optical cable should be hanged at corner edge, stored with the other communication cables in plug box, pulled with pole like chair legs, and bended by hands. As these results, we confirmed that the bending loss insensitive fiber is suitable for indoor wiring area with points of views of easy access, good performance after installation, and fine appearance.
