Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to use internal phase of broad spectral components in ultrashort optical pulses for telecommunication applications, it is necessary to measure the internal phase of each pulse by a single-shot. We succeeded single-shot measurement of phase shift in a phase-modulated pulse train. For this measurement, we propose a new method combining spectral phase interferometry (SPI) and a streak camera. Using SPI, phase measurement is possible with a fixed delay time between the probe and reference pulses, and the streak camera can resolve the pulse train of femtosecond pulses in the time domain. As an example of pulse-to-pulse measurement in a random data train, we provided phase modulation to a particular pulse in the pulse train at 76 MHz by cross phase modulation, and successfully measured the nonlinear phase shift of the single pulse.
